I am in the house and painting!!!!!!

    So, here's what's happening...
Yesterday was amazing!  I have been given free reign to design, decorate, paint, and nest in our new house!  Garth is the homeowner and I can't tell you enough how kind and helpful he has been!  I gently suggested he enlist me to help with the renovations and offered my painting services.  We talked about my ideas for the color palette and curtains and on and on... He loved them!  So, yesterday the kids and I arrived with buckets of paint in one hand and all the necessary entertainment for them in the other.
I tackled the living room first.  (Before pictures will be posted soon!)  I puttied cracks and holes and scraped the old paint off the windows.  A crew Garth hired to expedite the remodel so we can get out of this hotel scraped old wallpaper and plaster off of the walls in the master bedroom upstairs.  Wow, talk about a dirty, dusty mess!  By the end of the first day the living room received a fresh coat of warm cream paint on the walls with a deep khaki color to set off the beautiful crown moldings and detailed woodwork.  Amazing!  To top off the rich walls...an antique oriental rug in rusts and golds with blue and green accents...  Our neighbor just happens to be the antique dealer on Main Street here in Minot and just happened to have the perfect rug in his garage nextdoor!  Garth knew about it and brought me over to meet Richard and to take a look at this carpet.  He bought it for us to put in the living room!  Didn't I say he was a nice man????
Today is day two and we will head to the house shortly, though minus Gavin.  He's going to work with Luke today!  He is beside-himself-excited!  He needs some Dad time.  Drew and Paige will be my helpers (I'm trying to be positive).  It is a test of patience to be painting and working in the house with children in tow.  There is school on Monday, though!  Yeah!
Keep checking back for lots of pictures....I will post them soon....befores AND afters, of coarse! xoxo
